How It Works

Three steps.
No cost, no strings.

1. Apply through Cleaning for a Reason

The nonprofit runs the program nationwide. You apply on their website with a few details about your treatment, and they confirm eligibility.

2. You get matched with us

Cleaning for a Reason connects patients with a partner cleaning company in their area. In Brookline and Greater Boston, that is Style’s Cleaning.

3. We come and clean

Our team schedules the visits around your treatment calendar and your energy, and cleans your home the same way we clean every home: thoroughly, with non-toxic products, by people you can trust.

A free cleaning is not a lighter cleaning. Patients receive our standard house cleaning, done with extra care for a home where someone is recovering.

I started Style’s Cleaning in 2008 because I believe a home should be a place that takes care of you. When someone is going through cancer treatment, the house is the last thing they should have to think about, and often the first thing that slips. Partnering with Cleaning for a Reason lets our team give that back to families in our own neighborhoods. It is some of the most meaningful work we do.

Who is eligible?
Cleaning for a Reason serves patients currently undergoing treatment for any type of cancer. Eligibility is confirmed by the nonprofit when you apply, not by us.
Is it really free?
Yes. The cleanings provided through the program are free for the patient. There is no cost, no obligation and no sales pitch afterwards.
How do I apply?
Through the Cleaning for a Reason website. If you would rather talk to a person first, call or text us at (617) 233-5901 and we will walk you through it.
Can I apply for someone else?
Yes. Family members, friends, nurses and social workers refer patients all the time. The patient will need to confirm a few details, but you can start the process.
Can I keep using Style's Cleaning after the program?
Of course, and many families do, but there is no expectation. The free cleanings are a gift, not a trial.
